Canada Day Celebrations (July 1, 2018)


Russell Canada Day celebrations are organized by the Russell Lions Club and the Russell Agricultural Society every year. A fun day for the whole family with great entertainment, kids games, fireworks, and more!

This year we celebrate the 151st Anniversary of Canada’s Confederation and this year also marks the 30th year the Russell Lions Club and the Russell Agricultural Society team up to bring you this incredible day of festivities.

Start your day with Canada Day Breakfast hosted by the Russell Legion

Enter a team in the mud Tug-Of-War competition at 3:00 PM

All topped off with the evening’s spectacular Fireworks!
 

Canada Day Schedule

8:30 AM - 11:00 AM

  Canada Day Community Breakfast (hosted by the Russell Legion at 24 Legion Lane, Russell). Donations graciously accepted onsite.
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM   Canada Day Parade including children bicycles. Starting at St. Thomas Aquinas High School travelling to the Fairgrounds.
11:00 PM - 1:00 PM   Dr. Kaboom Kids Show
12:00 PM   Volleyball Registration at 12:00 noon onsite. Teams of 6 (at least 2 female players per team).
12:00 PM - 2:30 PM   Entertainment by "Charlie The Kid"
12:00 PM - 4:00 PM   Russell Scouts Barbecue
12:00 PM - 5:00 PM   Kids Games and Activities, Family Entertainment, Free Popcorn, Corn Box, Inflatable Bouncers
12:00 PM - 11:00 PM   Beer Garden
12:00 PM - 5:00 PM   Volleyball Tournament. Contact Stephanie Olney (stephanie_olney@msn.com) or register onsite. (you must be registered)
1:00 PM   National Anthem and Cutting of the Canada Day Cake.
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM   The Keepers Animal Show

1:30 PM - 3:30 PM

  Russell Fire Department Giant Water Sprinkler

3:00 PM - 5:30 PM   Entertainment by “The Front End”
3:30 PM - 4:30 PM   Martial Arts and Fitness club demonstration.
6:00 PM - 8:30 PM   Entertainment by "East Side Soul"
9:00 PM - 10:30 PM   Entertainment by "Charlie The Kid"
10:00 PM (dusk)   National Anthem and FIREWORKS at Russell High School. Donations graciously accepted onsite.
